I love quotes. I am not very good at remembering them though. I thought I would share some of my favorite art quotes with you today. Enjoy!
I found I could say things with color and shapes that I couldn’t say any other way – things I had no words for. Georgia O’Keeffe
It’s on the strength of observation and reflection that one finds a way. So we must dig and delve unceasingly. Claude Monet
I want to touch people with my art. I want them to say ‘he feels deeply, he feels tenderly.’ Vincent Van Gogh
Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up. Pablo Picasso
I hope that I may always desire more than I can accomplish. Michelangelo
Only when he no longer knows what he is doing does the painter do good things. Edgar Degas
I used to go and flatten my nose against that window and absorb all I could of his art. It changed my life. I saw art then as I wanted to see it. Mary Cassatt
All true artists, whether they know it or not, create from a place of no-mind, from inner stillness. Eckhart Tolle
The only thing I know is that I paint because I need to, and I paint whatever passes through my head without any other consideration. Frida Kahlo

Practice what you know, and it will help to make clear what now you do not know. Rembrandt
Creativity takes courage. Henri Matisse
When I judge art, I take my painting and put it next to a God made object like a tree or flower. If it clashes, it is not art. Paul Cezanne
Write and let me know what your favorite art quote is. Have a great day!
There’s an interesting art site for kids, http://www.artsology.com … I mention this because every page on the site loads a different arts quote in the top right corner of the page … plenty of interesting quotes!
I love the Paul Klee quote. It is fun and very easy for children to understand.
The Klee quote is just plain fun! I can even see an illustration for that one.
But I really like the depth of the O’Keefe and Matisse quotes. I like that art is a alternate form of expression. As a verbal person, it’s nice to access the other side of my brain to create art.
