May 2011 – Art For Homeschool Art Show

The May Art For Homeschool Art Show is up for viewing. Take a look! The work is great. We have art work from 10 homeschool students and one parent. Thanks for entering, guys and girls!

This is the one year anniversary of the online art show. Having an online art show has been a dream of mine for several years. I am very pleased that we now have 17 members in our Art For Homeschool Flickr Group.

These 17 members are actually homeschool families that have participated at one time or another in one or more of the online art shows. If you go to the AFH Flickr Group you can see all the art work that has been entered in every show. There are 66 pieces of artwork to be viewed. If you get a chance, please go there and leave some encouraging words for our artists.

You can also leave encouraging words for the artists here. Once again we will allow voting for the People’s Choice Award. The artist with the art work that gets the most votes will receive a $10 gift certificate from our sponsor Dick Blick Art Materials. You can show Dick Blick some appreciation for donating awards all year by buying art supplies from their company.

This is how the People’s Choice voting will work:
  • Look at the art work. Click on the thumbnails to get a full view of the work.
  • Choose your favorite piece. You get to vote for one only. I will not count votes for people that vote more than once. (I hope you will actually look at each and every piece of art work. We don’t want this to become a popularity contest.)
  • Make a comment at the end of this post with the title of the artwork and the name of the artist that you feel deserves the award.
  • Tell others to come see the art show.
  • Come back to this site on May 15th to see the awards.

Enjoy viewing the work!

I thought you would also enjoy seeing the wonderful art work by our homeschool parent, Tracey. I adore this painting but it will not be included in the People’s Choice Award.  It is the last painting titled, “Portrait of November.”
