We have two winners for the People’s Choice award for our November Show due to a tie. Our winners are Sprite and Kyla. Congratulations, girls!
America the Beautiful Since Way Last May by Sprite
Sprite’s winning entry was inspired by a trip taken with her family to Yellowstone Park. The title of the colored pencil drawing is America The Beautiful Since Way Last May. Apparently the title came from a song that Sprite heard while on this vacation.
My Country Tis of Thee by Kyla
Kyla’s winning entry is a colored pencil drawing titled My Country Tis of Thee. When Kyla uploaded her entry to flickr she said,”I have really been practicing on my drawing skills. The movement of the flags, the mountains in the background, and the shading are all the things I am proud of in this work of art.”
I am also proud. I am proud of these two young girls for all the thought and work that went into following the theme. I am proud of the other children that worked hard to participate in this show. I know that the children did not do this on their own, so I want to take a moment to acknowledge the parents behind the scene. Thank you parents for making this art show come together.
Okay homeschoolers it is time to get to work on the next art show. The due date for entries is February 1, 2011. This time there will be no theme. That way you can be free to come up with your own creative ideas. Good luck and have fun!
